"The Lilies of the Field"

Every year in spring, I am waiting for the first daffodils to open their beautiful blossoms. Daffodils in all their beauty always remind me of the biblical analogy of the lilies in the field: how God clothes the flowers in the fields and feeds the birds in the sky, and about how much more HE will clothe us and take care of us. 

I started this painting as the second piece in my spring flowers collection, because I just had to have a set of daffodils in this collection. I loved capturing the bright white ring of petals and the beautiful yellow crown in the middle. This group of daffodils in front of the bright blue sky are what spring looks like to me.
