Frühlingsblumen Ölgemälde Spring Flowers Oil Painting 2023

Spring Flowers Collection 2023: "Ready to Bloom"

I am so proud to present to you my first ever paintings collection. Even though I have been painting all my life, and more intensely with oil colors for 12 years, I had always painted single paintings, but never even had the idea of doing a collection.

When I picked up my paint brushes again this spring after a long pause, I wanted to try a completely new approach to painting and to really dig deep into the topics I chose for painting. So the idea of doing not a single first painting after my long pause, but doing a collection of paintings was something that I really wanted to try. And with everything blooming around me, especially the beautiful daffodils with their white and orange-yellow heads, it had to be a spring flowers collection!

When spring comes, I always like to get myself fresh flowers for the planters in my backyard. This year, my daughter and I picked up an incredibly colourful assortment of pansies from our favourite local farmer. And while planting and watering them, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of the burst of colors that we had just planted. The little blossoms of the pansies looked at me like little faces - each one different, each one unique, like new members of my family. There were some faces that were so stunningly beautiful and that I loved so much, that I wanted to capture them by painting. Pure inspiration!

I have been working on this collection longer than I thought, and still one painting is unfinished. But I am so proud of what I have created, that I want to share it with you anyway. Spring 2023 is coming to an end today, (at least here in Europe) and I am opening the doors to my spring collection 2023.

I named it „Ready to bloom“. This is what spring is for me: the whole world of nature around us is getting ready to bloom - and this year, I am stepping outside the comfort zone of my studio, and I’m „getting ready to bloom“, too. May these paintings bring you as much joy as they brought me, and may they remind us to bloom and let our light shine, where ever we can!
